The feast of St Antony was celebrated in Ranipura Uliya prayer hall on 11 June 2023.
The celebration was preceded by a novena from 2 to 10 June in the evening. People in a large number participated in the novena and honoured St Anthony.
The feast on 11 June began with a solemn procession from Ranipura Uliya bus stand at 4.00 pm, followed by a solemn Eucharistic celebration. Fr Cyprian Pinto, the Vicar Forane, presided over the Eucharist. Frs Jayaprakash DSouza, Rudolph Pinto, OCD and Liguori Crasta, OCD concelebrated in the Eucharist.
The Eucharistic celebration was followed by a stage programme. Students of Ranipura parish who achieved distinction in the SSLC, PUC and a rank holder in catechism examination were felicitated along with their parents during the celebration. Besides, Mr Roshan Ferrao (the powerlifting champion), Master Nathan Dsouza (Karate), Mr Wilfred Dsouza (the Panchayat President), Mr Arun Monteiro (the PPP Vice President) and Mrs Wilma Dsouza (the PPP Secretary) were honoured during the celebration for their achievement.
Speaking to the audience, Fr Rudolph Pinto, OCD said that the fourteenth miracle of St Anthony has already taken place in the families of the people gathered here. Fr Jayaprakash DSouza, the Parish Priest, who presided over the function, extended festal felicitations to the people and wished that we the faithful show grow in Christian fellowship in the days to come.
Mr UT Khader, who joined the programme later, was heartily welcomed and honoured during the celebration.
Mrs Veena DSa compèred the programme. Mrs Nelma Ferrao extended the vote of thanks. Mrs Suman Lobo read out the names of the sponsors. The programme was ended with the dinner. The faithful of the local wards joined hands under the leadership of Mr Jeevan Ferrao, the president of St Anthony Committee, in organizing the whole celebration
