Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Ranipura unit organized ‘YOUTH IGNITE’- a half day programme to the youth of Ranipura parish on 23rd July from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm in Ranipura church hall.
The progamme began by invoking God’s blessings through prayer song led by the ICYM members. Ms Liza DSouza, the ICYM President, welcomed the guests to the programme. Rev. Fr Jayaprakash DSouza, the ICYM South Deanery Director and the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Stany Rodrigues, Br Avith Pais, Mr Arun Monteiro, the PPC Vice President, Ms Wilma DSouza, the PPC Secretary, Ms Jevita Ferrao, the ICYM South deanery president, and Ms Liza DSouza, the ICYM unit president, graced the dais.
The programme was inaugurated by the dignitaries on the dais by unveiling of the banner ‘Youth Ignite’. ICYM South Deanery Director and Ranipura Parish Priest Rev. Fr Jayaprakash DSouza addressed the gathering by enlightening on the true meaning of Youth Ignite.
Dr Caroline DSouza, a consultant neuropsychiatrist, conducted the first session on the topic ‘Mental Health Concerns in Youth’. Mrs Lydia Lobo conducted the second session on ‘Understanding Drugs and Drug Abuse’. Action songs, games and dance filled the room with fun and joy. Mithesh DSouza, the ICYM President of Mangalore Diocese present and the diocesan team inspired the youth by their presence in the programme.
Jesmitha DSouza, the ICYM Secretary, extended the vote of thanks. Ms Sandria DSouza compèred the programme. Mr Victor DSouza and Mrs Anisha Neetha DSouza the ICYM animators accompanied the youth throughout the programme.
Altogether, 66 youth participated in the programme.
