The Laudato Si’ Sunday was celebrated in Ranipura Church in 09 July 2023. The programme was organized by the Commission for Ecology and Environment in collaboration with the Commission for Laity and the Commission for Social Development and various parish associations.
The parishioners joined after the mass at 8.30 a.m. to plant a sapling behind the church hall. Thereafter, six families who planted and nurtured well the plants supplied last year on the Laudato Si’ Sunday were honoured and they were given plants. They are: Brian Prince Dsouza- St Joseph Ward, Renisha DSouza- Church 2 Ward, Rajesh Pinto- Infant Jesus Ward, Herman DSouza, Infant Jesus Ward, Ronald Fernandes, Sacred Heart Ward and Herald Lobo, Sacred Heart Ward.
Various pastoral associations of the parish, namely, Catholic Sabha, CLC, SVP, Stree Sanghotton, ICYM, YCS and the altar servers were given plants to be planted and cared for in the church campus by these associations.
The Forestry Department provided a hundred plants of different varieties. These will be planted in the public area outside the church campus and will be cared for by the Commission for Ecology and Environment in collaboration with other commissions of the parish.
