Anti-drug month-2023 was inaugurated in Ranipura church on September 3, 2023. The people had already been made aware of the menace of the abuse of drug previously in various forums.
A special liturgy prepared for the purpose was used during the mass that day. The people of Vailankanni ward conducted the liturgy of the mass. During the homily, Fr Jayaprakash DSouza, the parish priest instructed the faithful on the menace of the use of drug. He advised them to be careful not to fall prey to those who supply drugs in schools, shops and work places. The parents were instructed to keep an eye on the behaviour of their children.
After the mass, the YCS and ICYM members took the lead in spreading awareness about the abuse of drugs. Sandria DSouza led the community to take an oath against the use of drugs. Thereafter, a photoshoot frame was inaugurated, and the people were asked to use the photoshoot frame and upload their photos in the social media. The programme was concluded with the shouting of slogans against the use of drugs.
