Environment Day was celebrated at Mary Queen of Universe Church, Ranipura, on 12 July 2036 at 8:30 a.m. The programme was jointly organized by the Catholic Sabha and Parisar Ayog with the objective of creating awareness about environmental conservation and encouraging everyone to protect nature.
All the parishioners and the various commissions of the church were invited to participate in the programme. The main activities included tree planting, distribution of saplings, and cleaning of the church premises.
The programme commenced with an inspiring address by Fr. Eric Crasta, the Parish Priest, who spoke about the importance of preserving nature and urged everyone to take responsibility for safeguarding God’s creation for future generations.
Saplings, provided by the Munnur Gram Panchayat, were distributed to the parishioners with the mission of planting and nurturing at least one tree. This was followed by a tree-planting initiative and a cleanliness drive across the church premises.
The Catholic Sabha took the lead in organizing and guiding the entire programme with great dedication and hard work. Members of ICYM enthusiastically joined the cleaning drive, working alongside the volunteers to clean and beautify the church surroundings. The active participation of all the parishioners and church commissions contributed greatly to the success of the event.
The programme concluded successfully with a renewed commitment from the parish community to protect the environment and promote sustainable practices. The Environment Day celebration served as a meaningful reminder that every individual can contribute towards building a cleaner, greener, and healthier future.
