FIRGOZ KUTTMACHO DEES- RANIPURA – 2023

Sunday, November 26, was an eventful day for the people of Ranipura parish. It was commemorated as the parish family day in the church.  In fact, it was a day with triple celebrations: the feast of Christ the King, Jubilee 2025 inaugural, and the parish family day. The theme of the feast was ‘Bhavadthan ani Mayamogan Bhorlelem Firgoz Kuttom Bandhun Haddyam.’

That day, the celebrations began at 7.30 a.m. with the Holy Eucharist presided over by Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul DSouza, the retired Bishop of Mangalore.  In his sermon, the Bishop urged the faithful to accept the kingship of Jesus and build up the parish as family that cares and shared. Towards the end of the mass, the Bishop inaugurated the Jubilee- 2023 by unveiling the Jubilee logo.

Preparations for the evening dinner and cultural programme began immediately after the mass. The parishioners joined hands preparing the meals, arranging the stage, etc.

The evening programme began at 4.30. It was presided over by Fr Ashwin Lawrence Crasta, the assistant director of Father Muller’s Homeopathy college, Deralakatte. Mr Arun Monteiro, Vice-President of Parish Pastoral Council, welcomed the dignitaries to the dais. Fr Ashwin spoke how the programmes like these are helpful in encouraging talents and maintaining family ties in a parish. Prizes were given away to several parishioners who participated in various competitions the past two months. Mrs Wilma DSouza, the PPC Secretary, extended a vote of thanks. Mrs Prabha Tellis compered the stage programme.

Thereafter, people from wards and the youth and children showcased various cultural items on the stage. People participated in this presentation with a great enthusiasm.

The parishioners joined for a fraternal meal after the programme. Several parishioners served as volunteers in various committees and served wholeheartedly for the success of the programme.
