A year-long faith formation activities of the children of Ranipura church culminated with the celebration of the catechism day on 26 February 2024. Fr Jeevan Tauro, OCD, presided over the Eucharist at 7.30 a.m. Fr Stanislaus Rodrigues and Fr Jayaprakash DSouza concelebrated in the Eucharist. The children from various classes arranged the liturgy of the Eucharist.
Snacks and soft drinks were served to the children after the mass, and they gathered in the hall for the celebration of the catechism day. Fr Jeevan Tauro, OCD was the chief guest of the programme. Fr Jayaprakash DSouza, the Parish Priest, Fr Stanislaus Rodrigeus, Sr Usha, BS, the Superior of the Bethany Convent, Mr Arun Monteiro, the PPC Vice-President, Mrs Wilma DSouza, the PPC Secretary, Br Avith Pais, Mr Nevil DSouza, the Commissions Coordinator and Mrs Shanthi Maria DSouza, the animator of the Catechetical Commission were present for the stage programme and for felicitating the catechism students.
Mrs Cecilia Monteiro presented an annual report of the catechetical activities of the year. Fr Jeevan Tauro in his message spoke about the importance of catechism in the faith formation of the children. Children from various classes presented a variety of cultural events on the stage. Thereafter, the children who scored high marks in the catechism examination and those who attended the catechism class regularly were awarded prizes. Those who contributed to this programme were honoured.
